The fruit is large, bright yellow, and firm when first picked, then softens in storage to a pear-like texture that becomes sweet enough to enjoy fresh. Aromatnaya is also excellent for jelly, preserves, baking, and for adding aroma and tannin to apple cider.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3 data-start=\"605\" data-end=\"637\"\u003eHardiness \u0026amp; Growth Habit\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp data-start=\"638\" data-end=\"1083\"\u003eThis cultivar is one of the hardiest quinces available, typically listed hardy to USDA zone 4–5 and generally expected to tolerate temperatures down to about –30°F once established. The tree naturally grows compact, usually around 10–12 feet tall and wide, with a spreading habit that lends itself well to open-center training. It blooms in late April and ripens late September into October, with fruit that stores for months in cool conditions.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3 data-start=\"1085\" data-end=\"1104\"\u003ePollination\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp data-start=\"1105\" data-end=\"1613\"\u003eAromatnaya is self-fertile, so a single tree will produce fruit on its own, and we do not offer any other quince currently.
