Join us in August for bud grafting at our Missoula urban farm! Bud grafting, a favorite technique, involves grafting in August, allowing vascular tissues to fuse and callus over winter for robust spring growth from a single bud, boosted by the rootstock’s extra year of maturity. Our hands-on bud grafting class is on Saturday, 8/23, at 9:00 AM, lasting 2.5–3 hours: 30 minutes of discussion, an hour of guided demonstration, and 1–1.5 hours of practice with instructor support (details at checkout). Extra rootstock is available for purchase. Bring your grafting knife if you have one; we’ll provide knives (if you need one), extra tape, and budwood, all included in the price.
