Overview
Honeoye has arguably been the best-performing strawberry we've observed across all of Montana. They grow well west of the divide—including Missoula, the Bitterroot, the Flathead Valley, Eureka, and Libby—and east of the divide in places like Cut Bank, Bozeman, Wolf Creek (Helena), Anaconda, and Big Sandy.
Winter-Hardy and Easy to Grow
Not only do they survive our harsh winters, but Honeoye also produces a good-sized berry—and they’re as easy to grow as dogwater. Hardy to Zone 2. Still, it’s best to mulch them with straw when putting them to sleep for the winter.
Reliable Mid-Summer Producer
They’ll come on mid-summer. If you have the space, plant with Cavendish for improved pollination and yield.
