Crabapple Trees

Our collection of crabapple trees consists of unnamed wild seedling crabapples, such as 'Siberian' Crab, clans of crabapples such as 'Dolgo' Crab and 'Red Splendor' Crab, which are also grown from seed but produce fairly true to the mother parent (i.e. 'Dolgo' is consistenly fairly large fruited for a crabapple at 1-2" and 'Red Splendor' almost always has red blossoms, red cambium, greenish purple foliage, etc. The quality of these fruits and their various characteristics may vary given that they are grown from seed. However, we do also have some crabapples that we have grafted onto various rootstock, and therefore these varieties will be identical to the mother tree from which we took cuttings for said grafting. This includes varieties like Hewe's Virginia, Wickson, Transcendent, Hyslop, and others. These are varieties for which it is not known whether domesticated apples were crossed with at least one other crabapple parent, but either way, they are flavorful. Most of these are all hardy down to at least -40F.
