Gooseberry Shrubs
We offer quite a few named varieties of Gooseberry, all of them delicious and hardy to zone 2. Our favorite are the Hinnomaki. Gooseberries in general are all dependable producers and require little maintenance. The flavorful berries are one of our first berries to come on (after Honeyberry and Nanking) and are great for fresh eating, pies, or preserves.
They’re compact, shade-tolerant, and ideal for planting beneath fruit trees, beds along the house, or creating a smallish hedge (5 ft. max). They're also deer resistant!
