Red Wine Grapes

Our red wine grape collection features cold-hardy hybrids bred for northern climates, including Marquette, Frontenac, and Sabrevois. These grapes deliver rich color, deep fruit notes, and balanced tannins while thriving in most parts of Western Montana. In our experience, these are the most dependable and high-quality red varieties for cold-climate winemaking. However, with the exception of Sabrevois (-40F), both Frontenac and Marquette and only hardy to -36F, which would therefore not cut it in much of Eastern Montana where it can fall well below these temps. So without seriously covering them in mulch over the winter and selecting only the best microclimates, try Valiant for wine production (never tried it but the grapes are actually some of my favorite).
