Fire Blight Resistant Pear Trees

Pears that resist fire blight. It's the disease that kills more pear trees than anything else, so if you're planting pears, start with these.

More about fire blight resistant pears

Summercrisp and Cold Snap are the hardiest of the group at zone 3. Summercrisp is a University of Minnesota pear you eat crisp, and Cold Snap is a good keeper. Seckel is rated to zone 3b and is small, sugary and great for canning.

Harrow Sweet, Honeysweet and Ubileen are rated to zone 4. Honeysweet is self-fertile. The others need another pear blooming with them, and pairing two from this list keeps the whole planting resistant. Our pear pollination map shows bloom overlap, and the pear disease resistance chart covers every pear we grow.
