Late-Ripening Plum Trees
Plums that come ripe in September here in Missoula. Plant one or two of these with an early plum and you're picking plums from August through most of September.
More about late plums
Superior is the best eating plum we grow, rated to zone 3b, and it blooms late too. Italian (zone 3b) is the prune plum, a 10 for drying and great for pies. It's partially self-fertile.
South Dakota, Kaga and Kahinta are all rated to zone 3 and all good pollenizers for hybrid plums. Kahinta is the last of our plums to ripen.
Our ripening map moves these dates to your town, and the plum pollination map shows what blooms together. See the early plums to fill in August.
