More about mid-season pears

Bolshaya, Larinskaya and Bulgaria are hardy to zone 2, and Vekovaya to 2b. Nova, Waterville and Savignac take zone 3.

Bartlett (zone 3b) scored a full 10 for canning, and Clara Frijs is rated to zone 3b too. Honeysweet (zone 4) is self-fertile and resists fire blight.

Pick them a little before they're ripe and finish them on the counter. Our ripening map moves these dates to your town, and the pear pollination map shows which ones bloom together.
